Hand/Wrist Pain
Physical therapy treatment addresses hand/wrist pain by assessing the muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, bones, and joints in that region of the body. Hand/wrist pain may also accompany neck pain, elbow pain, or shoulder pain. Common causes of hand/wrist pain include carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, tendonitis, Dupuytren’s contracture, trigger finger, cysts, or fractures. You use your hands all the time, so if you injure them it will be difficult to use them. You should seek a physical therapist to relieve your wrist/hand pain if you have difficulty gripping things, have numbness, or have restricted motion.
