Elbow Pain
Physical therapy treatment addresses elbow pain by assessing the muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, bones, and joints in that region of the body. Elbow pain may also accompany wrist/hand, and shoulder pain. Common causes of elbow pain include repetitive throwing, tendonitis, fracture, or dislocation. Sports injuries from golf, tennis, or baseball can usually affect the elbow due to poor body mechanics during the swinging or throwing motion that may need to be refined and evaluated by a physical therapist. You should seek a physical therapist to relieve your elbow pain if you have pain with activities on the inside or outside of your elbow, numbness along your “funny bone”, or stiffness with bending or straightening your elbow.
